Travel Tips

Sharing some vital information to prepare yourself.

(1) Most shops (including supermarkets) are closed on a Sunday. If you need to pick something up from the supermarket, you can head to a train station where the shops don’t close!

(2) If you are looking to save a few pennies, Berlin has plenty of budget-friendly activities! Stroll the East Side Gallery, Spend the afternoon walking through the Tiergarten and visit the dome at the Reichstag Building.

(3) If you’ve never been to Berlin before, we suggest staying mostly in the Mitte neighborhood. This is where the city’s top attractions are located and, yes, it’s a more touristy area.

(4) Reichstag is the seat of the German Bundestag (parliament). Entrance to the Reichstag is free, but for security reasons you’ll have to register in advance to receive a timed ticket

(5) The Berlin Cathedral sits on Museum Island, and it’s both cheaper and requires less time to visit than even just one of the museums in the area.

(6) Alexanderplatz is one of the busiest transit stations in the city. From here you can travel pretty much anywhere in the city. The subway ride back to the central train station takes 6 minutes. If you have enough time for dinner, take the S-Bahn to Hackescher Markt to get something to eat in that area.

(7) Berlin’s tap water is clean and safe to drink! Bring a reusable water bottle with you and fill it before your busy day out!

(8) Tipping is not mandatory, but always appreciated. Keep some cash on you so you can give the server a couple of euros if you enjoyed your experience.

(9) Public Transport: Using the U-Bahn, S-Bahn, and trams is a great way to get from one end of the city to the other

(10) Since you are travelling in August (Summer time), you will want to pre-book attractions like the Reichstag Building or the Berlin TV Tower. It might also be a good idea to reserve a table at a restaurant for breakfast or dinner.
